Kelly-newsletterHappy spring from all of us here at PHC!  2017 has been off to a fast start for us and I’m excited to share some updates with you.

Our new dental location at 1200 University Avenue in Des Moines, opened the end of February. Thank you to all of our partners and friends that attended the open house on March 21. We were pleased to have representatives from Delta Dental join us for the “floss cutting”. The clinic has been busy from the moment the doors were opened and we are glad to provide yet another service under our roof at the 1200 University site.

You may have noticed this quarter’s newsletter is showcasing our newly updated logo. The new look exemplifies PHC’s direction, meaning and identity. It is a fresh modern feel for our ever growing, forward thinking organization.

We are proud of the brand equity we have built in the name ‘Primary Health Care’ and did not want to lose that, but we and many of our patients, partners and staff already use the shorthand ‘PHC’. So, it made sense to bring that into the design. The starburst icon exemplifies rays that go out into the community. Meaning is found in the array of colors in the starburst. The colors reflect the broad range of services we provide, the various locations we have, as well as the diversity of our patients and staff. I believe our identity will be creatively expressed through this newly updated logo and resonate with the community, our patients and staff.

The Primary Leaders in Health Awards take place on Tuesday, May 16 at Forte in Des Moines. We are pleased to be honoring The Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines. I hope you will join us for this event as we honor this wonderful asset to our community. You can purchase tickets here.

PHC is proud to unveil our new look! You will begin to see our patient materials, collateral, signage and other branded items shift to the new logo in the coming weeks and months.

PHC’s Community Outreach

Community-OutreachThe community outreach staff at PHC is working hard to have a greater presence and build stronger relationships in the communities where we provide care.  Our outreach efforts include reaching out to individuals and families but also to a variety of referral sources; including social service agencies, fellow non-profit providers, schools and community groups.

A few of the events PHC staff have recently attended are the Iowa Governor’s Conference, DMACC Urban Campus Resource Fair, Kids Fest, in Des Moines, and the Family Health Fair in Marshalltown. These events (and others we attended) were great opportunities to share our programs and services to both new and existing patients. PHC was also present at many of the community night, class scheduling events, and parent conference nights in partnership with Des Moines Public Schools.

Please contact Natalia Trimnell, Marketing & Community Relations Specialist, if you have information on future community events for the outreach team to explore.
