Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

What is mat?

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is a whole-patient approach to treating substance use disorders that involves a combination of medications, counseling, and behavioral health therapies. If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol, opiate, or other substance use, MAT may be a viable solution.

In Ames, Des Moines, and Marshalltown, Primary Health Care (PHC) offers MAT to patients seeking help with their substance use disorder.
