Nationally, and in Iowa, a lot of attention is focused on what is often being referred to as the opioid epidemic, and communities everywhere are struggling with stemming the tide of this growing problem and; how to address the medical and social determinants of health needs.

In Marshalltown, Iowa, local providers are working hard to provide assistance to those struggling with opioid use disorder. This video panel presentation features a collaboration between Primary Health Care, Inc., and the Substance Abuse Treatment Unit of Central Iowa, where leaders have developed a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. In concert with substance abuse treatment services, MAT providers are making a difference on this issue locally.
