In recognition of National Nurse Practitioner Week (Nov. 9–15)
At Primary Health Care, our patients are cared for by a team of professionals who bring skill, compassion, and commitment to every visit. Among them are our nurse practitioners (NPs), advanced practice nurses who play a vital role in helping patients stay healthy and manage their care.
Who Are Nurse Practitioners?
Nurse practitioners are licensed, advanced practice registered nurses who can provide many of the same services as doctors. They:
- Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries
- Order and interpret lab tests and imaging
- Prescribe medications
- Manage chronic conditions like diabetes, asthma, and high blood pressure
- Focus on prevention, wellness, and patient education
In other words, NPs combine medical expertise with a patient-centered approach — taking time to listen, answer questions, and create care plans that fit each patient’s needs.
Teamwork That Makes a Difference
At PHC, our NPs work closely with physicians, nurses, behavioral health providers, and pharmacists to make sure every patient gets complete, coordinated care.
Whether it’s a child’s check-up, a follow-up visit for a chronic condition, or an urgent concern, our NPs are often the first point of contact — helping patients get care quickly and guiding them through every step.
A Week to Say Thank You
During National Nurse Practitioner Week, we celebrate our NPs for their dedication to improving the health of our communities. Their compassion, expertise, and teamwork make it possible for PHC to serve thousands of patients every year — and to do it with care, dignity, and respect.
Thank you to all of our Nurse Practitioners for the difference you make every day!
