September is Suicide Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and to remind everyone that help is available. At Primary Health Care (PHC), we’re committed to supporting you with our mental and behavioral health services. Whether you’re struggling or just need someone to talk to, we’re here for you.
You Are Not Alone
It’s important to know that you’re not alone. Many people experience feelings of hopelessness, but there are ways to get help and feel better. Talking to someone about how you’re feeling is a big step, and it can make a huge difference.
How PHC Can Help
At PHC, we offer a range of mental and behavioral health services to support you:
- Counseling Services: Our trained counselors are here to listen and help you work through whatever you’re dealing with. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, or just feeling overwhelmed, we’re here to provide the support you need.
- Medication Management: For some people, medication can be an important part of managing their mental health. Our providers can work with you to find the right treatment plan.
- Crisis Support: If you’re in crisis or feeling like you’re in danger of harming yourself, it’s important to seek help immediately. PHC is here to assist you in finding the right resources, but remember—if it’s an emergency, call 911 right away.

Take the First Step
Taking the first step to reach out can be hard, but it’s so important. Here’s how you can get started with our mental health services:
- Talk to your Medical Provider: You may be asked how you are feeling when you come in for a medical visit. Talk to your medical provider to let them know and they will connect you with one of our Behavioral health Consultants.
- Make an Appointment: Call or visit one of our convenient locations to schedule an appointment with one of our mental health professionals. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and all major insurance plans, and we offer a sliding fee scale for those who qualify.
- Talk to Someone: During your appointment, you’ll have the chance to talk about what you’re going through in a safe, non-judgmental space. Our team is here to listen and help you find the right path forward.
- Follow Your Plan: After your appointment, we’ll work with you to create a plan that meets your needs. Whether it’s regular counseling sessions, medication, or a combination of both, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Why Your Mental Health Matters
Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. When you’re feeling mentally well, it’s easier to enjoy life, connect with others, and cope with challenges. Taking care of your mental health isn’t just something you do when things are tough—it’s an important part of your overall well-being.
Know the Signs
Recognizing the signs of suicide is crucial. If you or someone you know is experiencing any of the following, it’s important to reach out for help:
- Talking about wanting to die or harm themselves
- Feeling hopeless, trapped, or like a burden to others
- Withdrawing from friends, family, or activities
- Extreme mood swings
- Unusual changes in behavior, sleep, or eating habits
If you notice these signs in yourself or someone else, don’t wait—reach out for support immediately.
We’re Here for You
At PHC, we believe that everyone deserves access to quality mental health care. Our mental and behavioral health services are designed to provide the support you need, when you need it. Whether you’re dealing with a mental health crisis or just need someone to talk to, we’re here to help.
Remember: Help Is Available
If you’re struggling, it’s okay to ask for help. PHC is here to support you with compassionate care and a team that’s dedicated to your well-being. Don’t wait—reach out today and take the first step toward feeling better. And always remember, if it’s an emergency, call 911 immediately.
Let’s work together to break the stigma around mental health and ensure that everyone knows they have somewhere to turn. This Suicide Prevention Month, let’s spread the message that help is available, and hope is real.
